How do I sign up?

You don't, really. You're manager signs you up by creating an account for you. Then you'll receive an email with a registration link. Click the link and set your password, and you'll be ready to log in.

I never received a registration email. What do I do now?

First, make sure your manager has already created an account for you. Next, double check your spam folder to make sure the registration email hasn't been flagged. The email will be sent from do_not_reply@barbalance.com.

If you still can't find the registration email, you can have another one sent to you by entering your email address here. After entering your email address, you'll get one of 3 messages.

"The email address entered is not registered with the system. Please contact your employer."

Your manager hasn't set up your account, or your account was set up with the wrong email address. You should contact your manager and have them double check.

"Your account has already been registered. If you have forgotten your password, please click here to have it reset."

You're account has already been registered and your password has already been set. You can reset your password by entering your email address here.

"A registration email has been re-sent. Please click the link in the email to activate your account."

Check your email for the registration email. Make sure to check your spam folder also.

If you've already tried resending your registration email and you're still not finding it, you can have your manager give you your registration link.

How do I request off?

You can request a day off by logging into your account and clicking on "My Schedule" in the navigation bar.

At the bottom of the screen, your requests for the next week are shown. If you click on one of the request boxes, you will be shown a menu with all available request options. Click on the "Request Off" button to request the day off.

How do I request a shift?

You can request a shift by logging into your account and clicking on "My Schedule" in the navigation bar.

At the bottom of the screen, your requests for the next week are shown. If you click on one of the request boxes, you will be shown a menu with all available request options. Click the button corresponding to the shift you would like to request.

If no options are shown, it is likely because your manager hasn't made any shifts available yet. You can not request a shift until it has been made available.

When is the latest I can enter my shift requests?

Bar Balance will allow you to enter shift requests up until 12:00am, Monday morning, of the week the request is for.

Be sure to check with your manager to find out when they make the schedule for the week. If they make the schedule on Friday, any requests you make on Saturday won't be seen.

How do I ask someone to pick up one of my shifts?

If you've been scheduled for a shift that you would like covered, you can make the shift available to other employees by logging in and clicking on "My Schedule" in the navigation bar. Next, click on the button for the shift you would like covered.

You'll be presented with a dialog asking you to confirm that you want to have your shift covered. Click on the confirm button to continue.

After clicking confirm, all employees able to pick up your shift will be notified of it's availability. The shift will remain on your schedule until a manager approves the changes. If your request is approved, you will be notified and the shift will drop off of your schedule.

How do I pickup someone else's shift?

If a shift is available to be picked up, it will appear on your "My Schedule" page, underneath your schedule in the "Available Shifts" row.

To pick up a shift, click the button for the shift you would like to cover. You will be shown a dialog asking if you are sure you want to cover the shift. Click "Confirm" to continue.

After you have confirmed that you want to cover the shift, your manager will be notified and asked to approve your request. You are not scheduled for the shift until it is approved by your manager.

If your request is approved, you will be notified and the shift will be added to your schedule.

How do I view everyone's schedule?

If you would like to view the entire staffs' schedule, click on the "Full Schedule" link in the navigation bar

Can I view my old schedules?

Employees are not able to view their old schedules. If you need to view an older schedule, you'll have to ask manager for a copy.
